Creeping up to the January football transfer window there will be rumours and stories about what the latest football transfer transfer news will be.
Petr Cech to Liverpool?
Yes – you have read that correct!
It has been evident for some time that Liverpool need someone between the sticks that is a more prominent figure than they have already, and the rumour is that Petr Cech is the big name they want to join them and help to shore up a leaky defence.
Cech has been in Thibaut Courtois shadow since the youngster returned from his loan spell in Spain – where he has visibly improved immensely and has carried on with great performances with Chelsea.
Initially Liverpool would want Cech on loan, and that may be an option for Mourinho to get Cech game time somewhere else, and he also knows Liverpool are not one of Chelsea’s title rivals.
This would also mean Cech could not play against Chelsea as part of the loan term agreement.
This would be a very brave move by Liverpool as everyone knows the history and intimate enmity between the two clubs…so how would the fans react….?
The flip side is that there is talk of Liverpool already have a deal in place to sign Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa from Malaga for £3million.
Time will tell on this one, but one thing is for sure, and that Petr Cech will not want to sat on the bench for much longer so this may well have some legs.
Please comment on this as interested in people’s thoughts…..
Ashley Cole to Crystal Palace?
Now this rumour has had people claiming its truth…but also its falseness
Having left Chelsea in the summer and signing a 2 year deal with Roma, there is sensational talk of Cole joining Crystal Palace.
Why i hear you cry….well Cole has apparently gone down the pecking order at Roma behind Jose Holebas, and Crystal Palace are keen to take advantage of this seemingly out of favour situation Cole is facing.
Cole did have a loan spell at Palace in 2000 and made 14 appearances, and are more than keen to bring him back to the Premiership – something that Cole may well think seriously about.
On the down side for Cole, he would have to take a very significant wage cut as Palace do not have the resource to match his current Roma wages.
However, David Mannaseh, managing director of Stellar Group, the agency firm which represents Cole, has said he has no intention of leaving Roma.
“Ashley loves life in Italy and Roma and has never been happier” he is quoted as saying.
“Whoever has given this information is a disgrace because it gives fans of a football club (Crystal Palace) false hope. Ashley is concentrating on trying to win trophies in Italy, and especially focused on winning Serie A – and nothing else”
Now, call me cynical, but Cole has not been in the Giallorossi starting XI since November 22nd, and the quoted passage above seems to be a very heavy denial…which means there could be some truth in it…?
Again…really interested in your thoughts so please comment…..
Adnan Januzaj to Real Sociedad?
David Moyes is keen for the little assassin to make to move to his revolution in Spain as he has endured a frustrating and barren spell with Manchester United. This will give him much needed first XI playing time and will increase his fitness.
Mohemad Salah to InterMilan?
Chelsea’s forgotten man could make the move as quickly as this January
Ivan Rakatic to Manchester United?
Only signed for Barcelona in the summer, but looks likely to be exported out of Catalunya with Manchester United the most interested.
…However the money machine that is Manchester City are also keeping tabs on this one.
This is clear to almost everyone…
…Tottenham to sell Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor and buy Jackson Martinez.
This may sound straightforward, and it may turn out like that with various clubs reportedly interested in Soldado and Adebayor, this really could happen next month.
Now…I like Soldado in the fact that he works himself to the bone…a bit like Torres…but is misfiring when it comes to scoring. Would i keep Soldado…yes! Teams need workhorses, and if you look at his stats for movement around the pitch, assists, etc…then he has had a good season.
Having said that, strikers are paid to score goals and his return so far has been unrecognisable since his move to Spurs
- Danny Ings to Sunderland?
- Dwight Gayle to Burnley or Leicester?
- Saido Berahino to talk to Liverpool and/or Tottenham?
- Sam Allardyce to be let go at end of Season?
- Billy Davies to be the new Rangers manager?
- So much to talk about, and the transfer window has not even opened yet.
